Admission to Ph.D. positions (full time) in President Chure Tarai-Madhesh Conservation Project

Project description:
President Chure Tarai-Madhesh Conservation Development Committee Secretariat provides a grant to Kathmandu University for the conservation and economic development of the Churia region of Nepal. The grant will be utilized to explore the status of bamboo diversity in the region and restore the species in their natural habitat for plant conservation. Similarly, degraded land will be restored through the cultivation of bamboos and multipurpose tree species. It has been aimed that communities in the region will be strengthened through commercial use of bamboo-based products. Ultimately, market linkages for community products from bamboo will be established in Nepal and abroad.
Thrust areas: Bamboos and soil conservation, Bamboo propagation, commercialization and utilization, Bioprospecting of Bamboos for Chure protection in Nepal.
Eligibility: Candidates must have degrees in three/four years of undergraduate and two years of Master or Equivalent degree in Biotechnology, Botany, Life sciences, or environmental sciences.
All Aspirants are requested to obtain an Application Form from the office of the Dean, School of Science. The duly filled application form along with an attested copy of relevant transcripts, mark sheets, and the bank receipt of Application Fee (NRS 1250/-) has to be submitted within the due date to the office of the Dean. Candidates must prepare a presentation of Project Concept Note (PCN) most relevant to mentioned thrust areas in order to present on the interview date.

The Selection will be done in accordance with the MOU signed between Kathmandu University and President Chure Tarai-Madhesh Conservation Development Committee.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for PCN presentation followed by an interview
