Every year on April 25, people throughout the world observe World DNA Day in commemoration of Watson and Crick’s 1953 discovery of the double helix structure of DNA and the successful completion of the Human Genome Project in 2003. The discovery of DNA’s structure is recognized as a significant advancement in contemporary biotechnology. In Nepal, we observe the day in a way that honors these outstanding developments in the field of biological sciences. The DNA DAY celebration in Nepal started by BSN from 2008. The program’s goal has been to provide insight into global scientific achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year’s event promises to be an enriching experience, combining a Symposium with oral and poster presentations, alongside the Biotech Model Competition-cum-Exhibition<\/strong>. With a focus on the theme “Biotechnology for climate change<\/strong>” the event aims to discuss the innovative ways biotechnology can combat the pressing challenges posed by climate change. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The symposium will concentrate on the role of biotechnology for addressing climate change, encompassing discussions on the following topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n * Medical and Pharmaceutical Biosciences<\/p>\n\n\n\n * Plant and Agricultural Biosciences<\/p>\n\n\n\n * Food and Industries Biosciences<\/p>\n\n\n\n * Environmental and Conservation Biosciences<\/p>\n\n\n\n * Astrobiology<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Biotech Model competition will bring the knowledge, understanding and perception of biotechnology in the form of 3 D model.
