Students, Researchers, Academics and Teachers from different faculties convened at Asian Institute of Technology and Management (AITM) to attend the ‘Proposal Writing Workshop’ organized by Biotechnology Society of Nepal (BSN). The workshop was held on 14th and 15th September with an attendance of around 70 participants.
The workshop was instructed by Mr. Karl Brown, an Entrepreneur and Skills Development Adviser from National Youth Federation Nepal (NYFN), who was a very energetic mentor despite having a busy schedule. Similarly Mr. Raja Ram Gurung, QA officer of Deurlai-Janta Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. also given training on Academics ethics covering plagirism, similairty indexes, data integrity and its checking method by live demonstration. Participants included Academics, researchers, undergraduate and graduate level students from Asian Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Kantipur Valley College (KVC), SANN international college, Tribhuvan University (TU) and Bhaktapur Multiple Campus (BMC).
Proposals include written documents like grant/funding requests and business proposals and being able to write captivating proposals are an essential skill for every businessman, entrepreneur, Students, academics or researcher. On the first day, Mr. Brown highlighted the importance of strategic thinking before writing a proposal, emphasizing on how to develop and present an idea to a potential investor and or Organization. The second day included group work on proposal development and a proposal presentation session, with three individuals from each group.
The workshop received tremendous positive feedback, encouraging the organizers to conduct similar programs in the future. The program concluded with distribution of certificates to the participants and tokens to both Mr. Karl Brown and AITM for their support and cooperation through Mr. Nabin Narayan Munankarmi, President, BSN and Mr. Raja Ram Gurung, Former Secretary of BSN.
